Carolina Lilies by Robin Pickens
Robin's mother loves daylilies. Her gardens were a mix of many varieties of daylilies in yellow, orange, and deep red, and I particularly liked those with lots of spots and speckles. When Robin saw the wonderful peach and red Carolina Lilies, with their dramatic dots, curving petals and dramatic arches, she fell in love. The curve of the petals, and the hanging stamen reminded Robin of twirling dancers with their elegant legs and ballet slippers.
Robin has added graceful ferns, lacy leaves and painted paisley to accompany the spotted florals, in a palette of ruby, peach, grass and aqua, with a few pops of teal.
